Our Philosophy
FDTKD is a traditional school of martial arts with an open-minded approach to instruction. Students and instructors alike
are encouraged to continue learning both in the dojang and outside. The main goal is to teach students how to defend themselves
while improving many other physical and personal goals that each student brings through the entrance. Every student is an
individual with different reasons for coming to our dojang; we want to help them with their quests. Students are also encouraged
to play active roles in the community and are required to commit a minimum of 20 hours of community service during the 6 months
prior to testing for black belt. We hope that when students leave class they are in better physical shape and have come closer
to reaching their goals.
Education & Special Needs
Education is a very important aspect at FDTKD. Students are encouraged to do well in school as well as martial arts. Learning
comes first and all students are required to maintain a minimum of a "C" average in order to participate in TKD
classes. Students of FDTKD are taught how to channel excess energy to more productive uses. Taekwon-Do can help
individuals with ADD/ADHD to better focus their attention outside of the training hall.
Instructors & Black Belts
Instructors at FDTKD are certified through the Unified International Taekwon-Do Federation and attend seminars and courses
to keep up on current techniques and skills.
